Fox Hunting
My setup for foxes used a really useful little hide. This pops up a couple of nights before the shoot and allows the fox to be used to it. I have a comfy seat inside and a stake in the ground out front with a gun rest. Three little windows with blinds gives me a optimal view of the fields around.

Close range 0-75 M.
A trusted .22 with night and day vision, shooting hyper velocity, copper plated, hollow tip rounds. These have tremendous stopping potential and will easily take out the fox with a well placed shot, body or head at a sensible range. < 75M is a good range for this setup.

This is my Ruger 10-22 equipped with a evolution stock and a pard night sight. In this setup there is no need for bipod as there is a rest attached to the hide, but if i am more mobile then a bipod would be fitted to the front.
More distant 75+ M.
For more range, 75-150 M, I have a .17HMR. This is my CZ 457 Thumbhole. It is an exquisite rifle and chambered in .17HMR. Set up to carry either a day scope 4×16 50 or the Pard night site from above.

Super accurate and nicely powerful, fires ballistic tipped ammunition that disintegrate on impact making it a very safe tool for the job. Little chance of ricochets compared to the .22 and fast to dispatch a fox or rabbit. Not as quiet though, so I still love the .22 as I can carry different ammunition ammunition depending on the job.

This is the hide at the top of a field overlooking 15 acres of sheep land. The device on the right is a whistle that sounds like a rabbit in trouble and attracts the fox over for a closer look.

To get a better angle on one particular field for foxing I built a sturdy platform. This can be used as is or with the tent for further cover. Allows for visibility down into the gullies by the fence line. Lovely secure structure at a good height without the need to build a treehouse. This one is 1.5 m x 1.5 m but could easily reproduce at 2.4 m x 2.4 m.
